Frequently Asked Questions

No, a referral is not required to see a podiatrist privately. 


Yes, we do! We have Hicaps ’on the spot’ claiming available for your health fund insurance, if you have podiatry cover.

  

Each insurer rebates different amounts, to find out your rebate amount, please contact your private health insurer and quote the item codes below in “scheduled fees’. 


If your GP has provided you with either referral:

Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) or Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP)

Medicare will cover a portion of your consultation fee. 


On the spot claiming for Medicare can be provided on the day of your appointment. Please ensure to bring your Medicare card and a DEBIT card for your Medicare rebate to be processed. Medicare will not allow rebates to a credit card. 


For your biomechanical appointment, please bring 

- Shorts or flexible pants

- Any related imaging reports 

- Your footwear for assessment. This includes work, casual, athletic shoes you regularly wear

- Current orthotics


Non-attendance/late cancellation policy

24 hours notice is required for cancellation of your appointment. If you fail to attend or cancel your appointment within 24 hours, a 50% payment fee for the treatment will be payable. 

Please note: cancellation fees are not covered by Medicare or Private Health insurance.
